Newell Public Library
The Newell Library is a great small community library with many books that can be easily checked out. It is located right next to City Hall at 205 E 2nd St. Hours are Monday through Friday 2:00pm to 5:00pm, Monday evening 6:00pm to 8:00pm, and Saturday 9:00am to 12:00pm. The phone number for the library is 272-4334. Librarian is Sherrie Petersen.

Library Card

Anyone three years or older may receive a library card. However children under 3rd grade must be accompanied by parent or guardian. To apply, request a registration form. Fill out the form, listing a contact person (an adult relative, or neighbor) who does not reside at the same address.

Loan Period

Books, magazines, audio material, and paperbacks are loaned on a two week period with one renewal allowed. Fines are 5 cents per day per late book.

Interlibrary Loan

Persons with valid library cards may request that the Newell Public Library borrow items from another library.

There is also computer and internet access and children's programs available.
