The city of Newell is responsible for both the plowing of snow and or removing snow from the traveled portions of the city streets. From 2:00am to 6:00am from November 1st to April 1st there is no parking on any city streets and snow is removed by mechanical means. Also the City cleans the streets by mechanical means.
It shall be the responsibility of the abutting property owners to promptly remove from sidewalks natural accumulations of snow and ice within 24 hours from the cessation of snowfall.
